What a year! The looming recession is so far still looming; we see our clients preparing for a downturn and asking us for recession scenarios in our commercial diligence. Multiples have not yet shown signs of abating, making it hard for our clients to find attractive companies at realistic prices. We have worked in portfolio companies on issues from strategy and post-merger integration to sales force effectiveness and process design. We have completed commercial diligence pre-LOI helping companies optimize their bid strategy and post-LOI, confirming deal theses and creating value creation plans.
We have also advanced on our own strategy, having added new repeat clients in both Canada and the US. Our clients often ask us how our work splits by sector, work type and geography. So we are sharing more information about what, where and for whom we have worked. Below please find a summary of our work for this year and we have the same information available for the roughly 400 projects we have done over the last 18 years.
Our team is great. And tired. This year we had some slower periods waiting for deals or projects to be ready, and periods of constant, intense work (right about now!). Carolyn Stark has rejoined our team as a senior manager after her maternity leave and jumped right back into an intense client engagement. Carolyn focuses on clients who need help with transformative change, implementation and project management. Sam remains our go-to leader for our clients’ most complex challenges, running projects with lots of intricate analysis and primary research. I act as our clients’ senior business advisor overseeing most of our projects at some level and getting deeper in areas where I have particular depth. For more about our full team, click here.
