Engagement Manager

SATOV Overview

SATOV is a growing management consulting firm based in Toronto. The firm was founded in 2002 and is recognized as the leading boutique strategy consultancy in Canada.  Our work spans growth strategy, operational excellence and M&A advisory.  In addition to a group of recurring corporate clients, we have an established Private Equity practice with funds in Canada and the United States.

SATOV is a different kind of consulting firm. We are intense, fast-moving, and built for people who want to make an impact early. Working here means being part of a close-knit team that tackles complex problems, pushes for better answers, and delivers work that matters.

We are a generalist firm that works across many different sectors, and we have decades of experience helping companies grow faster, operate efficiently, make smart acquisitions, and better understand their customers.

From day one, you’ll take on real responsibility. We expect you to think critically, speak up, and own your work with both confidence and humility. We look for people with strong points of view and the curiosity to challenge them. We provoke and analyze, but we never assume we have all the answers. Diverse perspectives matter here, and the best ideas win, no matter where they come from.

We support each other, challenge each other, and believe in each other. We care deeply about doing great work, and we’re proud of the culture we’ve built: one that values grit, humility, follow-through and the drive to keep getting better.

Job Description

Your primary job will be to lead the execution of client projects. Working with one of the partners on large cases or independently on smaller cases, you will actively drive the work product, manage the junior team on the case, as well as the process of fulfilling our mandates.

Outside of specific projects, you will have an active role in building knowledge, contributing to SATOV growth and mentoring junior staff.

As a Manager, you will own and define the work product end-to-end leading in-depth research, building sophisticated models, and ensuring rigorous process management. The role requires a hands-on approach, working closely with junior team members to deliver high-quality outputs, and stepping in directly when needed to keep work on track and to standard.

In addition to project work, Managers are expected to support the growth of the SATOV brand, including representing the firm at industry and business community events. With a strong and growing client base in Montréal, SATOV is investing in deepening its presence in the city and values team members who are connected to, and engaged in, the local business community.

Below are the qualifications for the Manager role, which are all important.  More important, however, is the ability to align with SATOV’s unique culture.  To be a leader here you must be able to demonstrate analytical brilliance in a way that is collaborative with our clients, and never arrogant.  At SATOV, we solve challenging problems for our clients. Having a diverse team lets us dissect problems from many vantage points, pushing us to the best answer. Beyond the technical qualifications listed below, we are looking for candidates who can demonstrate their analytical excellence while showcasing our values: grit, humility, follow-through and the drive to keep getting better. If that sounds like you, we invite you to apply to this role.
