Chris Kirk begins his new role as a Principal at SATOV this month.
Chris brings over 20 years of experience advising and navigating businesses through a range of initiatives including strategy, performance improvement, mergers & acquisitions, organizational design and change management. He has worked across many sectors and has particular depth within financial services.
A forward thinker and relentless problem solver, Chris is known to help leadership teams challenge their thinking to help build thriving businesses. He has done so as both a consultant and an executive in retail banking, insurance, and wealth management.
Chris spent the first half of his career at Bain & Company where he worked his way up to become a leader in the firm’s financial services practice, complemented by experience serving clients across manufacturing, industrial services, telecommunications, transportation and logistics, and retail industries.
After leaving Bain, Chris moved on to hold executive positions with leading Canadian financial institutions including CIBC, Scotiabank, and Canada Life. In these roles he focused on modernizing traditional business models and accelerating growth through his depth in distribution strategy, sales effectiveness, customer experience, and digital transformation.
At CIBC Chris served as VP, Distribution Strategy & Channel Integration during which time he led the development and implementation of CIBC’s omni-channel retail banking distribution strategy. Later at Scotiabank as Director, Total Wealth Strategy, he facilitated the design and delivery of its integrated wealth management offering. Most recently, Chris took on the role of VP, Capabilities & Enablement at Canada Life to help modernize its distribution business.
Chris received his BASc from Queen’s University and his MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
Chris’ love for a challenge extends beyond his work life. He enjoys experimenting in the kitchen and pursuing outdoor activities like rock climbing, hiking, fishing, and skiing. But above all, his time outside of work is focused on supporting and spending time with his family. Please join us in welcoming Chris to the firm.
